Supervising art assets’ production and art styles
Over the years, I have supervised both internal teams and outsourcing partners while developing the visual style and overall look and feel of art assets for a variety of mobile game and animation projects.
I have been working with outsource partners on various asset types on the Merge Mansion mobile game project.
The work has included developing art styles during pre-production and establishing the visual and technical guidelines needed for outsourced teams throughout production.
I have helped creating the art reference packages sent to the outsource teams, collecting and creating art assets needed to be shown in the style guides, creating the needed workfile templates and preparing the needed brief batches in both visual and written formats.
During production, I have been actively involved in reviewing artwork, providing feedback, answering production-related questions, and creating overpaints and other visual adjustments to ensure the final results meet quality standards and stay on style within the project's schedule and resources.
Clear communication, thorough preparation, well-defined guidelines, efficient workflows, and constructive visual feedback have become key aspects of my approach to supervision.
The biggest production at Rovio for me was the Angry Birds Toons in which I was part of the production art team creating the style of the series and also later supervising the art style and checking the final visuals with the comp team in the end.
Other projects have involved developing and refining the rendering styles of 3D versions of original Angry Birds characters in close collaboration with our talented 3D team.
I have also been supervising art assets and creating the art style as the lead artist in the Angry Birds Reloaded game and various smaller animation projects.
I have also taken on similar responsibilities as part of the art team while working on Merge Mansion as a Senior Visual Development Artist at Metacore, supporting the development of a wide range of art assets throughout production.
